The University of Sindh in connection with disturbance created by a students wing of a political party at the campus and forcibly stopping of point buses at various routes of Hyderabad, issued a clarification on Friday.
In a statement the Registrar of the University Akhtar Ahmed Memon has said that on Friday some miscreants forcibly stopped some point buses at various routes which were plied to pick students, employees and teachers from Hyderabad to jamshoro. It is further stated that some miscreants also attacked on University point bus at Bhitai Town Hyderabad and gun fired on bus and also beaten to the bus driver and cleaner. Due to attack on bus wind screen and other parts of the University’s point bus badly damaged and driver and cleaner received injuries. In reaction on bus attack employees of the University protested while the Registrar immediately rushed and talked with employees and they called off their protest.
The employees after that met with Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Parveen Shah and Registrar at Office of the Registrar and requested for security to employees of transport section during their duties and immediate legal action against miscreants who attacked on point bus and also action against the responsible staff. The Pro Vice Chancellor on this occasion assured the employees full protection by the University administration and legal action against miscreants. The Pro Vice Chancellor also convened a high level meeting which reviewed the security arrangements and problem created by a political students wing at campus on Friday. The meeting in light of various suggestions taken number of measures towards security arrangements at campus and security to point buses of the University.
