The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has approved to pay the Monthly salarary to Teaching Assistants during the months of the summer vacations.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has approved to pay the Monthly salary to Teaching Assistants during the months of the summer vacations. The approval in this connection was granted by the Vice Chancellor in a meeting of the Committee, constituted to recommend the solutions towards demands of the Sindh University Teachers Association (SUTA) submitted to the Vice Chancellor.
The Committee meeting was convened by the Vice Chancellor on Sunday which was attended by all members of Committee comprising Dr. Rafia Ahmed Shaikh and Dr. Imdad Ali Ismaili Pro Vice Chancellors of Badin and Mirpurkhas Campuses respectively, Acting Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Muhammad Hussain Shaikh, Deans of the Faculties Dr. Parveen Munshi, Advocate Jhamat Jethanad, Syed Abdul Ghaffar Shah Associate professor Institute of Plant Sciences, Muhammad Nawaz Narejo Controller of Examinations, Registrar Akhtar Ahmed Memon. The meeting which was presided over by the Vice Chancellor discussed the 18 point demands of the SUTA and examined it deeply and thoroughly with positive consensus in the light of the University rules and regulations framework.
The meeting also discussed the demands of SUTA in connection with
residential and pick and drop facility to faculty members of Badin and
Dadu Campuses as well as award of scholarships to faculty members of the Badin Campus. The committee gives their positive recommendations on the genuine problems of the SUTA for its resolutions. The Vice Chancellor while considering a genuine problem immediately approved to allow monthly salary to the Teaching Assistants working in various teaching departments during the months of the summer vacations in the University. A meeting of University Vice Chancellor and Committee members with the SUTA representatives is already scheduled to be held on November, 17.

Four Teaching Institutes of the Faculty of Natural Sciences University of Sindh has started 18 credit hourPh.D course work.

Four Teaching Institutes of the Faculty of Natural Sciences University of Sindh has started 18 credit hour Ph.D course work. The Dean Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University Dr. Muhammad Tahir Rajput has informed that National Center of Excellence in Analytical Chemistry, Institute of Advanced Research Studies in Chemical Sciences, Institute of Biochemistry and Institute of Plant Sciences have started 18 credit hour Ph.D course work in concerned disciplines. The Dean of Natural Sciences has further informed that most of other Institutes and departments under the Faculty of Natural Sciences where 3 Ph.D faculty members are available and also developed 18 credit hours course work, they will be starting the Ph.D course work from the new academic session-2012.

The University of Sindh is going to sought help from Oxford University Press to upgrade its University Bookshop with availability of bookspublished by the Oxford University press.

In this connection a meeting was held between Vice Chancellor Dr. Nazir A.Mughal and Regional Manager Sales Oxford University Press Syed Sheraz Hyder here on Friday. Dr. Muhammad Raees Acting Dean Research, Director Planning Muhammad Ali Roshan, Director Institute of Sindhology Muhammad Qasim Maka and others were also present. The Vice Chancellor said that idea of the establishment of University’s own Bookshop at Campus is to provide facility to students of the University of Sindh as well as LUMHS and MUET students and students of the schools located at Jamshoro. He said that with availability of textbooks of various disciplines for students of Sindh University as well as for students of LUMHS and MUET, they would be facilitated. The Vice Chancellor said that he want to see bookshop full modernized
system to cater  the needs of students of all three Universities and College and schools located in Jamshoro. The Vice Chancellor said that the University is also going to open-up University bookshop at its Elsa Kazi Campus (Old Campus) Hyderabad soon. Later on the Vice Chancellor along with representative of Oxford University Press inspected bookshop located at building of newly constructed building of Dr. M.A Kazi Institute of Chemistry. The Vice Chancellor during his visit also inspected the building of Dr.A Kazi Institute of Chemistry and expressed grat concerned on
non-utilization and deficiency in new building. Th  Vice Chancellor
ordered for setup of a high level inquiry committee to examine the
deficiency and ignorance of the concerned Engineers and contractors.

The Vice Chancellor University of Sindh Dr. Nazir A.Mughal has urged upon the University Officers to work with dedication and sincerity for the up gradation of the University. The Vice Chancellor convened a meeting of the Officers of Sindh University Engineering wing on Friday. The meeting was attended by Acting Pro Vice Chancellor Dr.Muhammad Hussain Shaikh, Registrar Akhtar Ahmed Memon, Advisor Engineering wing Dr. Abdul Ahad Abro, Project Director Qamarul Hassan Memon and Officers of Engineering wing. The Vice Chancellor directed the Officers to submit monthly report of their progress every month. He further directed them to visit each institute and department every month to inspect needs for immediate attention. He said that there is need that every employee should have to perform duties and own the University.

The Director Admissions University of Sindh has notified on Friday that pre entry test for admissions to Bachelors degree program in all disciplines for Academic Session 2012 will be conducted on Saturday,November, 19

The Director Admissions University of Sindh has notified on Friday that pre entry test for admissions to Bachelors degree program in all disciplines for Academic Session 2012 will be conducted on Saturday, November, 19. The pre entry test will be conducted at the buildings of the Faculty of Arts , Institute of English Language and Literature and department of Mass Communication buildings at Allama I.I.Kazi Campus Jamshoro. The transport facility will also be provided to the candidates and point buses will ply from different routes of Hyderabad at 7.30 am. It is further announced that Pre entry test for admissions to Sindh University campus Badin, Mirpurkhas and Dadu Campuses under Bachelors degree program will also be conducted on Saturday November, 19 at the concerned campuses.
